Best dual class for barb?
I was thinking barb/fighter but it seems like they already share most proficiencies so it's wasted

Proficiency is rarely why you multiclass. You'd go fighter for action surge, maneuvers or enhanced crit range.

Its still the best multi for a barb. Action surge, second wind...

Dual class in the older baldur's gate games meant something different, so I'm assuming you mean Multiclassing.
Fighter in the first few levels has bonsus other than those that are quite useful to a barb. I'm not sure if you really need it all that badly personally, but I'm rare to multiclass in games.

Rogue. Pick up Berserker at Barb-3, and Thief at Rogue-3, now you got automatic advantage for Sneak Attack at melee range without having to Hide, and lots of actions to attack with. Have someone Haste you, dual wield scimitars.

It's my mom. She's OP enough without multi classing.

are you guys trying to spell bard? its not that hard you use the D button and not the B button at the end of the word.

Thief rogue. You get expertise (Athletics is the skill used for throwing people and objects) and at level 3 you get a second bonus action, which means if you have five levels in Berserker Barb already, you'll get 4 attacks every round at level 8.

Not familiar with DnD I take it. They mean barbarian. It's common to refer to barbarian as barb for short hand.

They're talking about the wire with sharp bits on it, clearly.

Barbarian/Fighter isn't really a good combo.
I might actually recommend a DEX Barbarian/Rogue build. If you start with 16 DEX, 16 CON, you get a pretty solid AC, and you can use the rages to procure sneak attacks.

The numbers may need adjustment depending on what features they implement, but the above combo should be solid.

Oo, Rogue levels for Karlach make sense ... I can ditch Astarion!

You mean relentless attack? Rage would do nothing for sneak attacks.

The rogue/barbarian may be better in BG3 than in actual TT because there is a possibility that Larian might have rage apply to any melee attack, not just strength based attacks.
But generally, a Barbarian 10/ fighter 2, or pure barbarian, with GWM and using Medium armor will do better than a Barbarian/Rogue mix.

Sheesh. I thought Barb was just Bard with a b at the end, like birb. Too much internets.

Lv2 Fighter gives you Action Surge, which is good for pretty much every class in the game. You'd be missing a feat/ASI in the end, though.
