Would a Bard be ok for someone new to the genre?
Hi, excited to get into Baldurs Gate 3 next week and so far Bard interests me, is the class noob friendly or will it be rough for a first character?

He is Jack of all trades, good for combat, really good support, and good checks.

He isnt really hard but I suppose it could get a little overwhelming, but its easy to understand.

agreed with above. they do a little bit of everything and have fun skills and interaction. Also there is a great bard only hat in the druid grove i love

It's somewhere in the middle. Not as overwhelming as wizard, but not barbarian's "I chop stuff" easy. If you're willing to learn, it's a good pick. It will let you learn, while not overwhelme you with choices

fighter might be the most straight forward but bard seems fun

no bard is for experts only, you cannot touch it until you've at least rolled 4 critical misses in a row then and only then can you pick bard.

Bard is a fantastic class, and not any more complicated than any other fullcaster. So if you read your abilities, youll be just fine.

Just make sure you lower the difficulty when you play, till you get the hang of how larian Games work.

And look above (Under Guides) you can find more Guides for each class and Spells and such to help you.

I think yes. For the first time I've seen Bard be a useful and strong party member in a RPG setting, it's really interesting what they did with it. Bard is a great "face" of the party, able to roll high on most persuasion checks, plus having access to plenty of healing and supportive spells.

I plan on going bard and aiming for support, with access to cleric spells and shield

Bards are perfect in my eyes because they always stand in the background and do some motivation music while characters like Karlach are doing the combat work. :P

Hmmm....

That would be fun! But kinda unfaire to the others classes.

Barbarian: Me think that's enough for today, let's go to a Hole and get drunkkkk!!
Fighter: No no, the coins we got gonna be for-....
Barbarian: Relax! Our dear Bard here will be paying for us!
Bard: I will? Why should I?!
Barbarian: Because I'm saying SO!
Bard: W-well...when you put it that way *Pickpocket activated*...how can I refuse you?
Barbarian: Har Har! Good Lass!
Fighter: *Whisper* He gonna find out....sooner than later.
Bard: Unless he is drunk....*Look down on Barbarian Talisman* Wonder how much I can get for this beauty :D
Fighter: *Disgusted Noise*
