Was kinda surprised to see Non-Binary directly named rather then just "Other", don't think I've seen that before. Anyone else seen it anywhere else?

No, don't know that one, but screaming seems to be a commonly used argument by the pronoune gen.

Kinda a false equivalence though in Mass Effect's case where its an established character, not 'you' as it were.

Putting that aside though, people like to be represented, know that there is other people out there like them. Nothing wrong with making someone happy with little to no effort involved. If that is too much, i wouldn't expect them to respect someone anyway so their opinion would be pretty low on my list of concerns lol

An established character requires more effort and more research in whatever it is you're writing. As opposed to writing some code that takes maybe an hour to make everybody be whatever the player wants.

Yep. My generation was the one that told the older ones, that we don't have to fit into stereotypes and wear labels, in order to be a full woman or man. Now we have a generation that tells us that everybody needs to wear labels and has to identify themself in the right way and address everybody with the right label, or else you're going to feel their wrath, lol.

Thank you, this is my exact problem with the concept. Suddenly we're so obsessed with labels that you have to come up with your own label for yourself. Rather than just accepting that people are different, we're inventing new categories to put people into. It's so backwards.

I think people are just obsessed with being unique. Once we started accepting that you're more than just your gender, people got upset that they weren't different enough anymore. Suddenly being a man wearing a skirt didn't mean you were a rebel anymore, so you needed another way to stand out. In comes "nonbinary"! Now I'm so different, that everyone has to constantly use special words and grammar any time they even refer to me! I get to be acknowledged as different and special everywhere I go!

Also you have to do it or else you're obviously a monstrous bigot.

If what I've heard about God is true then it is a being that has always been and always will be. It has no need to reproduce therefore would have no sex and would have no sex based pronouns. "It" is the most accurate word.

I never said it was hard to develop. I just think it’s either shallow to care about or unimaginative to not look at a character you are already self inserting and just head canon that extra stuff on. If the gender roles are not commented on in the game in any way, then it’s just that. Head canon. You don’t need the game to spell it out for you if it amounts to nothing. Unless your identity/world view does not exist without affirmation
