What will be your background for your custom character?

For those of you who enjoy role playing your character and will make a custom character, what background will your character have?

I'm planning on making a Half-Orc monk and since I'm boring and lazy, I'm going with the trope that my character was abandoned by his mother (Mother not wanting a half-orc child in a human society) and raised by monks in a monastery. There he learned to control his Orcish rage and what not. So I'm going with a level headed half-orc that struggles to keep his anger in check.

my character's based on an old tabletop character of mine, the short of their backstory is that they were the second child of a draconic bloodline- didn't inherit sorcerer powers and wasn't studious enough to take up wizardry- developed a huge inferiority complex between older sibling and perfectionist parents and took on a warlock pact to compensate

My first character will be dark urge female drow... Still contemplating class but it will be either bard, paladin. cleric, sorcerer, wizard or warlock... So not narrowed down much at all.

seldarine or lolth-sworn? Are you planning to lean into the Dark Urge or resist it?

just decided this today.
I usually play as myself. Was planning on my 2nd playthrough as drizzt. Then i figured why not combine. Seems better for this game.

So i am playing a mix of drizzt and me. We got a lot of similairities, so seems like a good idea. Ive only read the 1st 9 books btw...been a while. may start re-reading tonight. Thats all my knowledge of DnD btw..

So he got raised in Menzoberranzan (underground drow city with crazy spider god fanatics basicly), wich just felt awkward. He got out. Then had a few years where he was lost in rage. He emerged to the surface and now is about balance and doing good. Sometimes his rage/upbringing and just the state of the world makes this hard.

Seems many people rp with the hero theme of overcoming upbringing/struggles.

So the background of drizzt and then i will lean a bit more towards my own personality. They overlapse a lot anyway. There are a lot of nuances, but i wont state that all here lol.
Think this char will rly fit the game and be fun.

Think i will make him a half-drow. I will either play as druid or bard. I always like the utility classes in games. Ranger would make a good fit just rp-wise though.

Druid will fit me best by far. Thats also a side of me in the char. But i think i may like bard more gameplaywise and a bit more utility and nice conversation-checks for 1st playthrough. Druid felt a bit underwhelming in ea.
So land druid or lore bard probablly, still not sure.
I would like to be able to dw scimitars. dunno if thats really a thing for druids? For bard that seems ok.

My character will be an accurate recreation of Edward Smith-Stanley, 14th Earl of Derby. I have written a 53 page prologue that explains how a British prime minister from the 19th century found himself in the world of D&D but it is far too explicit to post here.

Honestly probably the same as it is now, never bin into changing my background just a plain jmwhite wall nothing special..... unless you meant my computer background? That's 2 birds, cuz when my cousin was younger he loved birds so I put that photo on my screen and he walked in got the joke immediately and shouted "wow that's a pair of great tits!" Which prompted his younger brother to rush in faster then I've ever seen a person move probably broke world records I nearly died of laughter 🤣🤣🤣

Mine will be a Ghit (Still hasn't decided on her class), but she is considered as an outsider. And a meeting with another Ghit open a door to...maybe this is my ticket to going back to where I truly belong.
