With DND going far left ... is Pathfinder the next best thing? And if so ... will this be your last DND game purchase?

DnD is "woke" by some people's term, but who cares about it, main problem was for years for me that their materials... Were kinda bad, I'm not a fan of their rules, how they write them or to be precise how they fail to write them properly. And constant pretty stupid retcons. Last years DnD feels just like some McDonald's. Also overall WotC are pretty terrible company. They were also caught with some nasty race swapping of LOTR characters for MTG which is a big nono in my eyes.

Paizo are just as "woke" but have much more stable and deeper system in my eyes, they are more trustworthy as they weren't connected with any big controversies or scandals and seems like PF designers are just better fitted to actually expand and make their system interesting.

Pathfinder is better than DnD, but it have nothing to do with far left. Pathfinder have better world/setting, better mechanics, better classes, etc. Pathfinder simply supperior to DnD, and it have nothing to do with politics.

I wish other systems could be as popular and maybe as large as D&D and Pathfinder, I like 5th edition but it has it's flaws and usually get pretty unfun in high levels as a martial compared to spellcasters, along with what DDkiki said over how some mechanics and rules could been written better. That and the one D&D reveal and OGL attempt.

Pathfinder is not as old but holy hell it's a bloated system, numbers goes very high very quickly and a lot of crunching. It has a lot of options and customization which is good if you enjoyed math. That and it's kinda even more high fantasy than D&D.

Would be cool to see more of warhammer fantasy or 40k tabletop RPG in games, or call of cthulhu (if we ignore the existing ones) or more indie titles like Symbaroum and Mutant Year Zero

Well, that literally western game devs for the next 10 years i think so, only hope is for east located game developers to pick up the pace and start making own D&D games, west gaming is pretty much dead and infested with ideology nothing surprising to be honest

Yeah, this forum is currently pretty popular so it's rather infested with trolls sadly. I find it's best to just block them.

If a game has good gameplay I'll buy it. Heavy handed political messaging is annoying but I'm not going to let it stop me enjoying something. Also to be clear I don't see heavy handed political messaging in BG3, allowing people to create their character their way means I can create my character to be a straight white man like me.

I don't play DnD so I don't really care. Video games based on DnD can just use their own interpretation of older pre-woke versions of DnD, or if playing tabletop who says you need to use whats provided by WotC ? its an imaginary game it can be anything you want thats the point isn't it ?
