Plus there is that whacking huge fiery greatsword that boss Commander Zhalk wields. If you have a fighter type, he or she will love it. If you are not a fighter type, give it to Lae'zel and take her long sword.
And there even more good ♥♥♥♥ once you start nosing around the beach and the chapel and the druid grove.
You want it given to you, but you have to earn them.
Some combinations start with equipment they can't use, and that makes no sense. I don't see the harm in letting people choose standard equipment at the start. In fact, it would very much improve the start of the game for a lot of non-standard builds.
Honestly my least favorite thing about the fore sword is you can't put it away. It always has to be out that's so annoying I mean I know it's on fire haha but still it is annoying.
My barbarian is buck naked by choice, but this is a good point, besides it's just starting gear that happened to be in the pod with you, who cares if we pick out a few things so our starting gear makes sense?
You have your starting equipment, what do you even mean?
Anyway i don't mind not having it much, you can get a sheild and most basic weapons on the ship.
But yeah i bet dex dumpers want one really bad.
and this would justify devs droping us naked into the game.
So yeah either way it's fine with me.
