Broken Item?
So watching a video from a youtuber that got to play act 2, there is an item called "Death Stalker Mantle.

Its description is as followed. Straight out of the game, "Very Rare Cloak, Equipped by the Dark Urge, The shadow itself: You gain expertise in stealth checks.

Once per turn when you kill an enemy, you shroud yourself in the primaeval darkness to become invisible for 2 turns."

Im blown away that you can get this item in the first act and use it. Then slaughter enemies easily with abandoned in so many ways with this item because first act enemies wont have a counter to this.

Is this broken?

I thought the same thing when I got to that part of the video. I would bet this gets nerfed to something like once per combat, but even that seems kind of crazy for 'free' in act 1.

I *presume* you get this if you're acting exceptionally evil, potentially requiring you to sacrifice your potential companions. Maybe it exists so you can actually lone-wolf the early game encounters without getting gigashafted by action economy being this heavily stacked against you.

Ya, itemization is a bit of a concern to me. If they just throw incredibly powerful items at us the whole time, will cheapen the experience of finding a new, good item, imo. Not to mention it makes a game hard to balance.

This is how I see it. Chances say as a Dark Urge item, its rewarded by the little goblin dude if you give into the urges a bunch. And given what giving into those urges does to Gale from what I've seen, i'd heftily bet that youll be doing the game pretty much solo as Dark Urge.

Possibly not, since you don't get the option to get this item right off the bat, you probably have enough evil options through out the first act to keep your companions and get this.

The Dark Urge could very well be the 'Lone Wolf' talent of this game.

And I'm okay with that.

Very plausible that you only get that the more you murder
