Tadpole News (SPOILERS!)
So, the news is, the tadpole dreams are gone (quite sad, I enjoyed them), but now you can collect tadpoles insert over a dozens into your brain to get super buffs.

I mean, that really is a news I did NOT like. First, there is a risk you may be substantially underpowered if you do NOT insert more, and the idea to have 12 of them in my brain does NOT feel like something I'd do. Not the least of all because I do NOT want to end as a Mindflayer, free will or not.

On the other hand, in the panel of hell, it was said, it was to give people more chances to upgrade since the class levelling was "slow" or "too limited", something along these lines, which seems to indicate it doesn't make a difference?

Still I am feeling really uncomfy with this news. (Many Bothan's were traumatized bringing you this information!)

So, what do you think, and what do you plan with this new info? Is it possible you are early own screwed by chosing more tadpoles by default?

Thoughts?

Maybe it will be like Prey, a game in which you'll be critizized for choosing to use the aliens powers a lot?

It will be like - ''pathfinder swarm that walks''

Immersion wise i wouldnt put more tadpoles in my brain, everyone is trying to get them out. But maybe we will be given more info like they will not turn you into a mind flayer and more will give you more powers. Maybe an evil playthrough with lots of poles would work.

My thoughts are that everyone is trying to predict a Larian game and it's impossible to do.

Best advice is to play out these spine-chilling scenarios however you feel.

And discover what horrid fate awaits you in August.

It reminds me a bit of the current idea of implanting technology into your brain. Yes, you get new abilities, but you always lose a bit of yourself just the same.

In a game however is the question:

a) either I miss out a lot of content if don't add tadpoles OR
b) I end up doomed if I do.

Yeah. I've always liked the concept the problem is, it's too easy to not use the tadpoles power at which point you have no idea what you've really missed out on, and on the other hand once you go down the path far enough does it doom your character to a certain outcome.

On the one hand it's a good opportunity for multiple play throughs but on the other hand it's kind of unfortunate it's an either / or situation.

I also have doubts about this question. I love to build powerful character, but I also want to play as good paladin, so it would feel to me as wrong choice. I hope there will be something like in pathfinder WotR, if you decided to reject power you will get something in return, even if it will be later in the game.

Wait...you mean the changed it where those tadpoles you find out in Act 1 are ones that you can literally inject to increase your tadpole powers from the beginning of the game?

Am I understanding this correctly? That is a huge change if so.

Where did you find this information? Do you have a link I could look at?

I don't think there's been actual in-game presentation of the bugger being inserted in one's head. It seems like collecting a tadpole acts more like a "token" which enables all party members to unlock further illithid potential.
