Is there an .ini file?
Starting BG3 loads The Bard's Tale 4. Someone said that the ,ini file can be edited to fix this.

Is there an .ini file? Where is it and what is it called?

That guy made a joke...
I really can't tell you what's going on with your system, but I am very certain that Larian can't fix this. These are 2 very different games, made by 2 very different studios. Something is messed up on your system, and without access to your system I don't even know where to start looking....try deinstalling bg3 and then reinstalling it via steam maybe?

Wha..? What is Bard's Tale 4? Is that an entirely seperate game? Can you launch bg3 trough its exe?

It really isn't a joke. I start BG3 and The Bard's Tale loads. Starting TBT gives me what it's supposed to be.

I'm not kidding. It really happens.

Go find the .exe file for BG3 and try starting that.

If that works it'll at least be a temp fix if you make a desktop shortcut.

But...I really have no idea how the wires could be crossed that badly, I've never had different game launch when I tried to launch another.

I deleted BG3 and reinstalled it, and it still loads the freaking Bard's Tale.

Did you make a custom shortcut? Maybe the wrong game ID info is in it. Launch BG3 directly from the steam library. If that still launches Bard's Tale, delete that and try launching BG3 again before reinstalling any other game. If it's still screwed up, I'd delete Steam and reinstall it, and any games used by it, as something has happened to your directories that isn't normal.

You could delete Bard's Tale and see if it still tries to bring it up after that.

I uninstalled Bard's Tale, and it is indeed launching. Or, rather, it's downloading the game all over again. If I can just play it again, I'll be happy.

Whoops. Downloads says it's the damn Bard's Tale again.
