Try it out and find out for yourself if you like high detailed story and character driven rpgs :)
There's a lot of customization options right out the gate, which is going to be even better once the game actually releases within the next month. Tons of content to keep you busy. No idea how good the story is going to be since we've only seen a small portion of it through Early Access.
Worth the buy, really.
The branching options and methods of solving problems, and the world around your reacting to you choices, including your character creation choices. Ie if you are am Elf other Elves will be more friendly towards you, if you are a Cleric of Shar then Shar worshipers will not attack you and see you as a brother.
There are whole 10s of hours you will not see by choosing one path over another path.
If this excites you then this game looks to be the pinnacle of that.
On the other hand DnD 5e is not the best system for flowing combat, great for tabletop I hear but clunky for video games.
If you like your action fast maybe you should skip this.
For me if the deliver 50% of what is promised it is my game of the year.
I have already pumped in 100 hours, that is more than I do for most games and I am still excited for full release.
The magic of Larian to me is choice , certain quests can be solved through different means, the solution can be found in 4 different locations.
Add to this , there is a huge emphasis on customization and your party , your party has 4 players, each one with their own story, quests.
This game promises over 100 hours just for the main quest, it will be a massive game.
Baldur's Gate is also class based, so you'll have to outfit your party based on their classes, not everyone can use every item you find.
Oh that's very nice then!
