How are halflings and gnomes are child-like? They are small, but not their faces or body proportions.
And there was a halfling x human romance in D&D movie which looked extremely wholesome.

Aye, which is why I referenced Varric, a popular character in DA who you can't romance (even if it would have ended poorly due to Bianca). Also I suggested Minthara as a Duergar. I do agree it has to start with Dwarf companions if it is to ever be taken seriously. And I did give some suggestions on how the "pedo" romances could be addressed. Either way, it doesn't seem like we can have platonic short races in our party, outside of hirelings, and that is a shame.

Just desire for some one to finally break out of the industries walls and venture into the interesting and often unknown spaces that seem to be ignored in favor of the more standardized and safe productions. With Larian at the helm and especially after the whole bear media buzz showcase thing all I can do is look forward to the release in hopes that the game has some more out there ideas. And more importantly gives some respect to the smaller races with some representation, as well as giving more player options.
And yes you all inspire me with your songs of heartfelt affection and dedicated passions, let your legend never be forgotten after all passes, and may the game developers know of your heroic fight. For the writing on these walls shall be cemented for all to see, and their eyes shall gaze upon words truer than anything that could be uttered in discussion of Balders Gate 3. You sanctify these decrepit halls of blighted debate, and raise the spirit to see even the faintest of light in the darkest of hours. May all your dreams come true and wishes plenty, if not in this lifetime, then surely another.....also am I just crazy or is there like four whole elves in this game?

I would hope that one man would not have that much power over the industry, but developers still don't want to wander out of a box its currently stuck itself in so the blame has some credit...it's some complete and arbitrary bullsheit >_<

Well, there is a tiefling as well to be fair, but yes, all average sized beings as far as companions go so far as I know.
