M1 Mac native support
Does the game run natively on M1 Macs or through rosetta?

While I can't speak for that specifically, the game is available for Mac. Think the Mac release is still scheduled for August 31, but could be wrong. Issue is mostly with Apple.

Mac user here. It runs natively on ARM macs and according to the FAQ uses Metal 2.3. Runs great on my M2 Max.

It does run on M1 natively
However the game won't be released to Mac yet, it will be released on a later date.
The early access is playable on mac though

Hi Ghost, as I understand it, but don't quote me on this, it's not an “Apple issue”. Rather, it's just that the people Larian are using to create the Mac version still have some "polishing to do”. Whatever that means?🤨

So, we are in the same boat as the Xbox people, with no official launch date yet. 😔

The only good news is that it will definitely be launched for macOS users sometime before Christmas 2023, I guess! Like always, we will just have to wait.🙄

I am expecting lots of posts, by people telling me to buy a PC! For you people, just don't bother.😎

Some of the MacBook Pros (with intel chips) have an AMD card, or can use an external card. With the current (M1/M2) Mac / Macbooks it has the cpu/gpu together and I have been able to play games like Arma 3, WoW, etc without an issue and my Air doesnt even have a fan. The new chips are very powerful when a native build of a game is made for them, even Rosetta translation intel -> m1 runs decent.

runs very well on my macbook air m2 8GB RAM. hitting ultra settings with FSR (has to be because it's still running through Rosetta). locked to 30 fps just to keep that temperature down (no fan in macbook air), I expect it to run even better when Metal version drops.

As stated by others, runs perfectly well on mac silicon. Smooth on my M1 Pro Max. No rosetta needed.

I started a GeForce Now subscription, just so that I didn't have to buy a PC to play BG3 at launch. Colors look a bit darker than the Mac port though.

Do the settings work? I am on M2 Air, I set it at Very Low but it seems to look too well to be "very low" settings and runs playably the mac get very hot very quickly (not fan after all).

I do not have experience with MAC but a 2 years ago I tested this game on cheap APU Ryzen 3 2200G and worked at ~26FPS 1080P Ultra Low without FSR. Simply at low setting can run on office PC ;)
