12th Player Character Race?

With the newly announced races, there are now 11 different races you can choose in character creation. There are 12 classes you can pick. I've noticed that in the menu for choosing your race, there is a space missing. This is probably nonsense, but I'm thinking their going to announce a 12th race closer to the release date, or at the very least add it as a first DLC. Having 12 races and 12 classes just feels right to me. And this is probably wishful thinking, but considering the fact the empty space is under Halfling and next to Half-Orc, I think the 12th race will be Goblin. Goblins are just green halflings or short orcs if you really think about it. I really hope its goblin.
Please Larian. Please give us the gobbo's.

Could be a "Suprise!" thing on release, but DLC is also possible. No idea what though. More monster races would be welcome in my book but hard to say. Could very well be for an Ebberon DLC or some other class/race combo.

I sincerely doubt they are adding another race. They have the PHB races as expected, plus a couple others (separating Drow from elves, gith, and some subraces like duegar and tiefling variants which are not PHB). Being one short of a matching number of races and classes is neat, but is far from a compelling reason to expect Larian will add another race.

UI designers aren't stupid, they wouldn't leave a missing race slot for no reason. Either Larian are cooking up one last race to reveal before the game is ready or their UI team is terrible at their job

To be honest my biggest annoyance with BG3 was that they were going off of the PH. I disliked them having Tieflings but not Aasimar as well so if for whatever reason Aasimar are a core race that would be sweet!

Mainly because I'd love seeing the conversations between the Tieflings and an Aasimar

It'll be fluffy bunnyrabbits. And it will be a completely peaceful playthrough. All violence will be disabled. Only class available to the fluffy bunnyrabbit will be bard, and everyone will be singing everywhere.

I always thought this and was hopping for goblins and think they make the most since. To go with that we have 7 origin characters and 4 companions so we need 1 more of those also! … pref an orc/goblin we do alrdy have sazza that they could use

I'd love to have an option to play as a goblin. We have gnomes, dwarfs, halflings, so why not goblins?
