Luckily Larian has said that while it won’t be an option in the base game, they’ve designed the UI in a way to make adding extra party slots really easy for modders so you should be able to mod it in pretty quickly at launch if you want.
If someone will control said character, then it's not an NPC. it's a PC instead.
You meant Origin Playable Character, which is OPC.
That's cool. I wonder how many players can be modded in for example.
