No PS5-PC multiplayer, right?

From what I've gathered, it's out of the question that multiplayer between PC and PS5 will be a possibility, correct?

That's really sad and even sadder because it's Sony that just doesn't wanna play ball here :-/ Would have loved to play this with a friend who owns a PS5 but no gaming PC.

Edit: Asking this because something they showed in the Panel From Hell 10 made me question that for a sweet but short moment (when it seemed as if the next player joined in via PS5 during the Tactician-Mode presentation).

Yeah, appears there's cross-platform progression for save games basically, but not cross-play multiplayer (ala something like Diablo 4).

Maybe they'll figure it out. If Diablo 4 can pull it off perhaps there's hope for BG3, but I am not holding my breath unless Larian gives some specific answer that differs from this

As of Patch 9, Direct Connection works between Steam and GOG on PC & Mac.

They did kind of leave themselves some wiggle room by saying "As of Patch 9", so maybe there's an outside chance. Shrug.

Hmmmm :-/ Yeah, it sounds "needlessly complex" as if they're themselves are still hoping for it.

There are no current publicly known plans for crossplay. That doesn't preclude it in the future, but I wouldn't expect it by the time the game releases on PS5.

I read they want to make crossplay with PS5 too somewhere. I am feeling very sure about that. I will google later where i saw it.
