The Biggest Problem with the Latest Panel from Hell
It turned the conversation away from the possibilities of adventure and discovery, the very cool QoL changes, and the recognition of a lot of very talented people working collaboratively to being all about the morality of having intimate liaisons with persons who have adopted animal forms.

Now the forum is a mess with both sides fighting each other claiming the moral high ground and making reductive statements.

I suppose the big winner here is Larian who can ride the controversy for cash but we lost something cool that we could collectively be excited about on the way here.

That's the whole point of EA, buddy. Just ride it out for that payday, no matter how diluted the game gets.

Blame YouTube chat. They picked the options after Larian clearly went for opting out of it. But the crowd wanted to see so that's what they got.

I personally am all for talking about the cool new stuff as well. Warlock patrons doing something is what I am most excited about.

Oh, they went on much, much longer about those aspects than any of the romance segments. Some of the ga.eokay preview did get slighted, though that was because of some technical issues causing the fps not to show on stream. Pretty hyped for monk class, though I probably won't play it outside of multiplayer.

I think this is the lesson we can all stand to learn.

Never let Youtube chat decide anything, you could have a decision between "Cure cancer" and "Kick a baby seal down an elevator shaft" and I have no doubt that they'd pick the latter.

I just want to applaud you for coming up with the diplomatic phrase: the morality of having intimate liaisons with persons who have adopted animal forms

Eh, this'll die down in a bit and we'll be able to be collectively be excited about the game.

More of us than before too, thanks to the marketing effect.

Player count is over 13k right now and has been going up every day since the panel from hell. Was hovering around 1-2k before, with a temporary bump after each patch.
I'd say it was successful.

And that's just for the Early Access. Yeah. Safe to call it a success.

Well yeah it's great, obviously the EA was a success, its just unfortunate it turned out to be just that, a way to sell the game as much as possible, instead of actually allowing users to be a part of the development.

The thing I feel all the naysayers about it are missing is that that scene drew a lot of attention to a hot gay romance written by people who have a sense of humor and will be risque. And based on women I've known, there's a substantial audience for that.

Which makes it funny when people act like it was in there for 'inclusitivity' specifically for gay men or people who like bestiality or whatever.

Those conversations exist too.

Oh please, who cares what the naysayers say? Next they,ll say the game got delayed. After it was moved a month forward. :D

Wait, someone did actually do that. It was rather funny.

Yeah, it's just kinda funny that they forget women exist.

I'm still excited as ever for the launch of the game, not going to let a small band of loud mouthed ignorant people that can't critically think about anything change that.

With that said, there IS a lot of stuff to be excited about.
