Character STL figures for printing
Here's a thought. Something I was thinking about would be really cool! With the popularity of purchased or 3D printed gaming pieces.l Wouldn't it really be cool if we could print of have someone print out player characters. You can already see your character in 3D, would it be possible for Larian to create an stl file of your character? Then you could down load it and either print it your self or have someone print it for you. Personally I think having you player character on your desk would be neat!

In general, models designed for optimal display in video games are terribly unsuitable for 3D printing, and vice versa. To make a model 3D printable, you have to ensure there's sufficient thickness everywhere and there aren't details that are too small. To make a model render well in a game, you have to delete every polygon which doesn't matter because it can't be seen from normal camera angles, but tiny polygons are perfect for making small details. Most clothing details are done with rendering shader tricks and thus would just look flat on a physical model.

Larian definitely *could* do this, but it would be a separate cost to get the printing experts to collab with their artists.

Why would they want you to make money off something they could possibly make money off of? Heck they probably will be coming out with that bear figure at the launch of the game.

If you can find the .obj you can convert to stl then chop it, shrink, grow, or edit with a decent slicer or cad software
