Tell me, did you also ask this question when Game of Thrones had its myriad of very explicit sex scenes including incest?
Romance in RPGs is one of the most heavily anticipated things for any title because it appeals to a whole big demographic and is always optional, it's not hurting you any for other people to enjoy and the game is not 'CENTRED AROUND IT' stop being disingenuous.
I dunno. Gamers be horny? Beats me.
Especially when a lot of video game romances are either severely undercooked or supremely tacky.
I think romance is fine, it is an epic fantasy role-playing experience where you the player get to play out your DnD fantasies that the table would find hard to continue.
Also, you're the one who is overemphasizing romance in BG3.
It is 100% optional and they've even added a maturity filter.
Just because e'erbody's talking about it right now doesn't mean it's "central" to the game. It's a part, one part.
