What race and class/builds are you going to use in 1.0 and why?
Just wanted to start a wholesome discussion

How dare you....

Well I have enjoyed my dwarf barbarian character, the one with the +2 str. Works really well in that set up, and since I like tanky stuff at times making them a bear barbarian giving myself resistance to all but psychic damage is pretty helpful as well.

I've grown fond of ranger as well, but right now I'm trying to decide if I was to do that do I want to make a bow user or a melee dual wielder who gets the feat that allows you to use normal one handed weapons and you build them with str over dex. Can make a decently tanky character with AC and the ability to swing two decent hitters.

Might also make a sorcerer at some point, not sure on the race as of yet though. Would also depend on if I go with the new subclass, dragon, or random chaos sorcerer. I do kinda want to do a random chaos run since that's not usually my style and see how much of a gut punch that might be to do. If I was to do that, I'd likely make a female half elf in honor of Neera. Quite liked her in the old games, even though I'm not the biggest fan of those games.

I am waffling between Paladin and Barbarian. I like playing melee, and the charisma the Paladin will need makes for a great face character.

Still debating race, dependsd if we're stuck with point buy, or we have other options such as rolling or standard array available. However my first character will definitely be a Tempest Domain Cleric.

If my test in Solasta means anything, a Dragon Born Barbarian is pretty awesome and that minor boost to Charisma would help with those intimidate checks they get access too. :partyboo:

I'm having a hard time deciding so I'm glad we get a couple weeks to stew still. Leaning towards a teifling warlock or a dragonborn sorceror for my first play through.

Though that Dark Urge Origin messed with all my plans I had. It looks so well done.

I am so torn. Will probably have a few games going simultaneously until I settle on a favorite.

I have played a ton of different permutations of characters and I am pretty sure I'm going to be happy to the end with a Half-Elf (Wood) Feylock with Sleight of Hand so I can ditch Astarion. I intend to go Dark Urge, but I will probably resist almost all the urges; I just don't much enjoy playing evil characters very much.

Barbarian was a lot of fun, though, especially because I could get rid of Lae'zel and gift her armor to Shadowheart. With Feylock, I'm probably going to have to wait for Karlach before ditching Lae'zel. Now that they've made Wyll presumably more interesting, I'm torn, though, because I want to see how that story plays out but don't need another Warlock in the party.

It depends on what racial ASI system they are using. In the panel, they have a Dragonborn Monk with 17 DEX, which implies a Tasha's style system. If you can freely move around your racial ASI, then I'll probably try playing as a Drow or Half-Orc Wizard. If the ASI's work like they do in EA, then probably just a Half-Elf Wizard instead. With the Dark Urge origin added on top of course.

I have to admit, Gloomstalker/Rogue multi-class is tempting me, though.

I am divided beetween a tiefling warlock, female, or a male dragonid fighter, with the spellcasting subclass. I will probably go for the tiefling, mostly because a gish character is something i have made almost always...

But a pact of the blade warlock is still a bit of a gish so... yeah.

You can keep all of characters at your camp though, can't you? If you need to complete their quests to do so, you could just swap them in temporarily, do the quest, then swap them out again. Only complication might be that Larian have said Wyll wants to kill Karlach, so it might be problematic if they're both in the party.

That multiclass is pretty good taking only a couple lvls of barb for rage and reckless attacks to fish for crit smites.

Draconic sorcerer half/elf for the charisma boost, gold dragon ancestry for fire boost, I will try dark urge as well for the narrative boost.

<-- Rolls a 1, Uhhh BEAR!, Really I'm going to play lazell for solo campaign with me and some friends I'm leaning to a Drow ranger beast master or a half elf warlock arch fay.

I'm going to go warlock. I'm sad about not having hexblade as an option but, fiendlocks let you gain temporary HP from finishing off enemies so. In games like this, any way to heal is important.
