There's far too much magic in BG3.
^
we need fewer but more special magic items
There’s literally 10+ different magic items at the first vendor you encounter. Take a lap
At least they aren't using attunement. My god that sucks.
Then you missed a metric ton of magic items.
There’s a ton of Barb specific gear, helmets that add to your intellect and give you bonus actions. There’s a SLEW of items that augment your healing spells (a ring, 2-3 gloves, boots). There’s a ring that gives you Darkvision, a ring that gives you more movement.
There’s a whole giant forge to craft Adamantine gear that has ‘reeling’
There’s a mace that’s +2 and has a vampiric life steal quality but can drive you mad, theres another forge you have to do a side quest for to make weapons that silence enemies. A flaming sword that does fire damage
I mean, the sheer idea of this thread is insane. The game is littered with a wide variety of magic items. It’s too much.
9/10 Unique items past Fort Joy were barely worth using because you outleveled them so quickly.
i dont know, i see where he's coming from.
in world of warcraft, every 5th enemy you kill drops an uncommon. every strong enemy drops a rare. and epics, while rare, can easily be acquired in various dungeons at a 100% success rate. And now, you even get free legendaries all the time.
compared to that BG3 has virtually no magic items and the ones you do get are literally just, like, they dont do anything with a few exceptions.
Either way you feel about it, there are mods which add a host of magic items to the game, and thousands of others agree that thats a good thing. So, after release, I expect that mod to be updated but who knows how long itll take to spread a bunch of magical items all over the game, i mean modders probably want to play the game first before releasing mods for it otherwise they'd spoil it for themselves.
but yeah. there will be more magic items on release, and with mods coming later.
even 20000 are just 1%...^^
I love D:OS2, but magic/epic/legendary items don't feel special at all. And I'm OK with that. Maybe someone will drop a mod and give equipment blue, purple and orange text boxes so you can good when you play this game.
This is a different game. It doesn't need to be like DoS 3 in every way.
