BUILD - Sorcerer (Storm Sorcery) / Paladin (Oath of Vengeance)
This combination can be quite powerful, especially if you can maintain a high Charisma and Strength. The Paladin's Divine Smite feature can be used in conjunction with the Sorcerer's spell slots, allowing for massive burst damage on successful hits. The Oath of Vengeance further augments your ability to focus down individual enemies.
1st level feature of Storm Sorcery allows you fly 10 feet as a bonus action without provoking attacks which works great with misty step and Thunderwave.

  • At Level 3: Searing Smite as a 2nd level spell once per Long Rest. Your weapon flares with white-hot intensity as you attack, marking your target with Searing Smite.
  • At Level 5: Branding Smite once per Long Rest. Your weapon gleams with astral radiance as you strike and possibly marks your target with light, preventing it from turning Invisible.

Please note, you need a Strength of 13 and a Charisma of 13 to multiclass into/out of Paladin, and similarly, you need a Charisma of 13 to multiclass into/out of Sorcerer.

Keep in mind that as a Sorcerer, you can replace one spell you know with another spell of your choice from the Sorcerer spell list each time you level up in this class. This allows you to adapt your spell list as you gain levels and face new challenges.

As a Paladin, your spells are not fixed. Each day you prepare a certain number of Paladin spells of your choice, equal to half your Paladin level (rounded down) plus your Charisma modifier. You can change your list of prepared spells after a long rest. This gives you great flexibility in choosing the spells that will be most beneficial on a day-to-day basis.

These are just suggestions and the best spells for your character can depend on a lot of factors, such as the rest of your party, the campaign you're playing, and your personal playstyle.

This build focuses on being a heavy hitter in combat, using spells to deal damage and Divine Smite for big hits, but you'll need to work with your party to ensure other roles are covered.
