At least the OP sought out the information prior to purchasing.
But even then there are more problems that would arise from having RTwP. Firstly, Larian's engine is seriously incompatible with RTwP. Ask the modders who tried to force a RTwP mode into DOSII.
Secondly, this can also be played in multiplayer. A RTwP multiplayer session sounds like a right recipe to just stumble over every obstacle D&D has managed to avoid on top of being utterly miserable.
Thirdly, RTwP is just completely outdated and has seen no changes to how it's implemented for over a decade.
Lastly: RTwP is feeeehkin sssssssssssscheisse.
But I won't be here for that drama. There are other games without turn-based combat after all.
