I think they will impose the restriction of Domains upon the clerics.
So a Kelemvorite Cleric will be required (or only have the option) to take Grave and Death domains. And i am pretty sure these two will be available in the final game since Death is also often a domain for the more evil archetypes of characters.
Grave and Death domains both have certain protection spells against undeads, but against undeads Sun is also a very very viable option.
So perhaps a Lathander follower is more fitting, as they are quite devout at destroying undead as well afaik.
I was wondering if they might add domain restrictions for deities later. It did seem odd they would have a deity without either one of its listed domains.
My original idea was sort of like a rather grim guardian of the fallen who made sure they had their last rites and considered undeath like what her comrades faced an abomination that must be purged from wherever it is found. Which is why I ended up choosing Kelemvor since he apparently judges the souls of the dead and dislikes undeath.
Lathander just didn't quite fit what I was looking for although I might change to that after all.
Well Lathanderites are a sort of undead hunters, just like Kelemvorites, they both despise the undead but for different reasons, and their core beliefs are also different. But for instance generally any kind of cleric is okayish, or any kind of paladin is okayish against undead. So no need to switch, just some get more additional ways to counter them. Like Sun domain offers the undead to be destroyed instead of just turned. (Which can be OP, but can be utterly useless as well and to really use it you must make certain builds)
And also you can alwas have multiple runs to play out the way you want:)
i havnt seen any evidence that they are adding more subclasses beyond what they revealed in their last update.
Oh none of these are subclasses. It is just religion. Different god different domains. And each domains have "bonus spells" and usually a bonus effect. For sun it is the chance to destroy undead upon successful turn undead.
