Which honestly, I get it, but I feel like two major RPG series using Elves largely as 'racism is dumb and bad' just got a bit much for me.
Very well done by Larian. I actually felt like playing a well-known (hated) race.
I think the duergar and goblins seem the worst offenders, but they're not clear-cut. Many of the druids just plain dislike all outsiders, not racist, just pricks. Even the one that call the Tieflings 'devilkin' seem to be using the insult of the day to prod them to leave, without actually resorting to violence. I suppose that's racism, but not deeply held.
Play the good-guy route and note a majority of their attitudes soften and change.
would love them too, if i would like to drink ♥♥♥♥♥♥ booze thats taste like tapwater in marocco with vodka, eat every person who cant escape my yellow teeth and would speak like i had to much hits on my head.
then its the masterrace.
