What is the best way to play all races and classes?
Hello!

I want to know what the best way is to play every race and class.

If I have a single playthrough for every class (or subclass) it's going to take forever to play them all and I don't think enough will be different to make them fun.

I'd have to play multiple classes in the same playthrough I believe but is the game designed for that to be a fun experience? From what I've seen they really want you to make a single character and then use the pre-mades.

Ideally I'd have three playthroughs, each trying a third of the races and classes but then I don't have room for the pre-made companions at all and it goes against the intended way to play which is having a single character.

What do you think?

They don't 'want' you to do anything specific. Only way to play all races and classes is to play.. all races and classes. By not playing with the pre-mades you miss out on their questlines, that's it, the game is designed to be played the way you want and think is fun. I personally am playing with Tav and the origin characters and their questlines first.

You have a group of 4. You can mix things pretty well in 3 runs.

Do they have to be in your 4 to do their quests or can they just tag along?

The best way is to experiment and see which you prefer. What I would find the best for me, may not be the best for you. And you will enjoy it a lot if you really enjoyed played DOS2. It's a much superior version of that game for me.

I doubt you can complete them by just having them hang around your camp, meaning they need to be in your party with you, but it would certainly be great.
I'm not looking forward to playing with Astarion or Laezel.

Not always. Some of the interaction with them happens in the camp. But if you are trying to get their max approval rating, they need be in your group as you venture.

I also find Astarion and Laezel to be annoying. My last 3 play runs, they both where dead. :P
May not do that however on my first play run in full release.

You need a strategy for companions i suggest. I played EA up and down and today i know when i have to change a certain companion for getting approveal only or when to send them to camp for sleep time so they will not disagree with my heros decisions. I play as a good Tav. Gale, Wyll and Shadowheart i can make reach the max ... Astarion very high and Lae´zel high. More i wasnt able to get the max. out of them. And at the end ... all companions wanted to romance me ... damn. I just was nice to them though and never intended anything, except for shadow. lol
