It's a broken 5e Warlock build.
Hexblade is not a build, it's a patron (like Fiend/Archfey/Old One), focused on melee combat.
Sorlock is the build. And yeah it's pretty fun. Tears 5.0's "rubber banding" right off.
I really hope that Booming Blade is an option in BG3. It makes Hexblades even more ridiculous.
For example giving clerics Toll of the Dead, because everything has high dexterity making Sacred Flame useless. Or removing concentration from Shadowheart's Invoke Duplicity because it is a sad shell of what it should be. The same could be said for fly, which is just hover a foot off the ground.
Look closer at around 2:45 ;)
That character can't stop in midair, nor could they change their vertical elevation, they are simply transitioning between 2 points, the same as if the character was using the jump action.
From a mechanical perspective the "fly spell" just makes the player immune to ground effects and can use the jump action infinitely (until movement speed is reached) for movement with the slight difference of not needing line-of-sight for the destination.
A better example of how fly should be handled in 5e can be seen in Solasta, which showcases the power the spell can actually achieve.
And the AI needs to be smarter. Right now I can have just one sneaky archer or spellcaster attack from a single high position and hide after every attack and nobody even moves to try to figure out where the attacks are coming from. I'd think they'd at least go towards the source of the arrows/spells, but they just stand there and take it. I love this game so far, but that has got to be fixed. I'm assuming that higher elevations are not within the enemy's line of sight, but they should be. Unless they are pigs, they should be able to look up. And I should not be able to walk around behind an enemy that I'm already fighting and then hide. Once they are aware of a PC's presence, hiding should have much more restriction.
I also hope they allow single players to make and play with more than one character without having to launch multiple games in multiplayer. I've enjoyed making all sorts of party combinations to play with on my own. My favorite was The Bangles, four female bards named after the band members who actually did a lot better than I expected!
