9 and 3.
Your total levels ('character level') cannot exceed 20 in 5th edition D&D.

In BG3 character level cannot exceed 12.

Multiclassimg is split between your character levels, so the combination of whatever class levels you choose cannot exceed 12 in BG3.

5e multiclassing is underwhelming, especially with a level cap of 12.

There will be mods that increase the level cap, I'm personally hoping for level 14.

Whether or not there is enough content to reach level 14 is another matter though.

Why 14? 13 is 7th level spells.

Is flight even going to be in the game for PCs?

In the latest trailer there was someone flying through Baldurs Gate...at least it looked that way to me, so I still have hopes we get something similar to solasta in that regard...I constantly use flight in solasta, and I would really love to do so in BG3...^^

I think lvl 12 is plenty enough

Subclasses get abilities at 14, but the real reason is that 14 just works better for my multiclass builds.

The Fly spell has already been added to EA, but it's a little lackluster.

this, it also open up for a sequel like BG1 and BG2 did.
