Don't know how larian implement WallSpell in BG3, but based on what I told you, you can at least expect that, changing shape will be a good improvment.
However in 5E there's a spell called "Wall of Fire" and i qoute " The wall has exactly two permitted shapes: a straight line up to 60 feet long, and a circle 20 feet in diameter" so its possible larian will implement that.
Could you rotete them around? Sorry i don't really remember those from dos 2 they were probaly late game thing i guess adn i enver seen them.
Just trying to get a feel if AoEs like those will be impactfull on combat or not... if we can jump over i would think that would make them awkward and not worth the high level slots..
So you choose a departure point for the spell in this range :

After that, another area will show, you can go in any direction to make your wall https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2997245786
And then you create your wall, Like I stated, there is many individual entity with all their own HP :

Both will be in my first playthough but just one will get to level 6 spells... So most likely it's gonna be the druid depanding on the level up test... wall of thorns hmm that could look and work great.
