Playing with Achondroplasiaphobia
Someone already mentioned that they have a fear of spiders on here and how difficult it is to play. I wanted to come out of the closet and mention my Achondroplasiaphobia. I admit its so hard to see half-lings and dwarfs. I cringe each time. Its so bad that i could not even read the Hobbit. I would have nightmares every time the LoTR trailers would come on TV back in the day. I hope not see any when i play. I always play Goliaths to try to assume that all people ar shorter but that race is not in this game. I dont know what i will do. Any advice?

thank you, so often its a condition not taken seriously. One time some college friends tried to play a joke on me. Lets go hang out at a comedy club they said, we got front row tickets. As i was sitting, out came Brad Williams. I got up and started screaming and ran out. I heard the comedian now uses my weakness in his comedy shows. Its not a joke!

You could try to separate reality from a video game. If games present such a problem then you really need to look to the issue in life and not on a video game forum. I get you want sympathy and understanding, but that doesn't help you.

You could do what I would do, assuming I couldn't fix it with mods. I'd pretend they were something else. Like a hamster with alopecia determined to shave those damn Dwarfs for stealing all the body hair.

thats a great idea, a mod that can make everyone tall. I wish they had that for real life. I live in fear everyday. I cant even watch TV anymore knowing that there are shows on there like Little people Big World. Im afraid i might flip on the wrong channel.

It was an idea. I can't pretend to understand what you go through. I'm trying to make you look at it differently. We can be whatever we want in a game. Pretend to be someone else. Give out characters whatever Head-cannon we want. You could lean into that. Face your fear, but indirectly. Worth a go, right?

do you suggest that i play a dwarf? As therapy? I dont know if im ready to do that?

I wasn't suggesting that. I was suggesting that you roleplay a character that doesn't feel the way you do about those little people. Maybe in roleplaying as that person you might be less affected.

Your idea has merit, but I'm not suggesting it.

Iron Maiden - Fear of the dwarf.. fear of the dwarf.

Man i wish i had a fear of something like that, im always thinking about what happens when i die. About the eternety and of not existing.

Well, it's pretty easy...they just have to change all npcs for halflings. Now everyone is the same height, even the children and goblins, so problem solved.

Damn no one really biting on this one Space Hamster. Looks like the internet became all too woke to make offensive comments on made up issues. Damn.

I guess if the most beautiful woman (or man) in the world happened to also be very small you would give them a miss right?
