Everyone is Aberrant Mind by default by virtue of having an Illithid parasite.

It's like a free multiclass (Illithid powers).

I would have loved divine soul sorc (I love 30ft range cure wound :P). alas I got archfey warlock and assassin rogue, so I'm pretty happy overall. :)
And I'm pretty certain, other subclasses will be added via mods. ;)

Me one lament is the lack of Hexblade.
Homebrewed Pact of The Blade maybe?

I could easily see that. Pact of the Chain already seems pretty buffed, and there's precedent in its OneDnD playtest implementation.

That, and Larian cannot explain how Wyll is proficient with rapier. 🤣🤣🤣

Hence why I am still holding out a very tiny hope for just.. anything because Bladelock sounds so cool.

Also that looks dangerous. I'm in.

Yeah, that's always struck me as a tad odd. Someone told me it's because of his.. origin? I dunno, but Wyll was already shady with his whole devil deal.
Missing subclasses that are disappointing:

• Bladesinger
• Hexblade
• Shadow Sorcerer
• Death Domain
• College of Whispers
• Oath of the Watchers
• Cavalier
• Scout
• Drunken Master
• Circle of Wildfire
• Feywalker

Last I checked, Wyll's rapier proficiency is associated with his "Blade of the Frontier" custom background. There's precedent for backgrounds providing proficiencies (usually skill or tool) and being customizable, but it still feels like a band-aid for the character.

Yeah, I'm not a fan of it personally. Probably me one like, big gripe with the game so far.
We,ll see how it pans out on actual release but I,ll be cautiously optimistic.
I don't like that Origin characters have access to options PC's don't - vampire spawn (or werewolf) is another example.
