Minsc's original voice actor is Jim Cummings and he is definitely a super-talented voice actor, but he's also 70 years old now. He can likely do it but just like Irenicus's voice actor for Siege of Dragonspear, it is obvious that aging is a thing. That would work if Minsc hadn't been petrified for a century and is still roughly the same age he was at the end of BG2.
Mathew Mercer is one of the most talented voice actors these day and can match Minsc's original voice to near perfection, and has been a long-time fan of the series and of D&D and will treat the role with respect. If anyone could replace Jim Cummings, it would only be either Matt Mercer or Brian Hull in my opinion.
Not a deal breaker for me, it's Jaheira man.
Bethesda voice acting is always so terrible though, and they have a real thing for Linda Carter. Their various smiths and shopkeepers always take me right out of the game with their identical, poorly read lines. Fallout was cringe with it, had fun and all but Bethesda's dialogues/actors are painfully tame. Like Disney Boba Fett tame.
I also don't consider Dragonspear canon, but I made it somewhat fun for myself to think of it as a hazy dream the bhaalspawn has while being tortured by Irenicus. That would explain why we go from fighting adult green dragons, liches, go into the hells and fight a devil that require's +3 weapons to even injure to fighting goblins in the dungeon.
Just let her be, she's been through enough.
If you don't like the lineup in the game, you can just not romance anybody. It is possible.
Classic, old fashioned ageism! Granny needs love too!
Besides, Jaheira is a half-elf. Old or not, elfs age more gracefully than humans do, which means less wrinkles, less sagging, regardless of age. She probably looks like a fit young person, but with grey/white hair. A life of adventuring also tends to keep one in shape.
