At level three you get to choose two Metamagic options, which you spend Sorcery Points on to modify one of your spells.
The icons for Metamagic will appear on the right side of the hotbar. First, click on the Metamagic you want to use, then click on the spell you want to cast using that Metamagic. Only eligible spells will be highlighted after you click on a Metamagic. To unselect that Metamagic, click it again (or press Escape).
Spell slots are basically the resource you use to cast your skills.
In the beginning you can recharge your Sourcery points on a long rest.
You can also convert spell slots into sourcery points.
However you need 2 points for every level of spellslots, but you get only one, so it's not a good idea to convert them back and forth.
back and forth?.. so if i use 2 points to make a skill slot for a New skill to be put in there,, and then i take of that one, i dont get both back but instead i only get 1 point back of the 2 i used to create it in the first place?
The system basically 'taxes' you.
It costs two Sorcery Points to create one level one spell slot. You get one Sorcery Point for a level one spell slot.
But I misremembered, it's not always double, it depends on the Spell slot level:
1st 2
2nd 3
3rd 5
4th 6
5th 7
So it get's cheaper to buy higher level spellslots...still I tend to not use my sourcery points that way, unless I really need a spellslot.
The other way around is a bit more common for me....sacrificing a spell slot to be able to use a meta magic option...
But usually I try to avoid converting to or from spellslots alltogether. But that's just my personal style.
Edit:
You can look a lot of it online, ie here:
https://www.dndbeyond.com/classes/sorcerer
though there will be some alterations for BG3, so always doublecheck ingame. :)
Note that this is not 'legal' at TT because the rules prohibit you from casting more than one "leveled" spell (i.e. a non-cantrip) per turn regardless of whether you have the resources for it or not.
It's unknown whether Larian will fix this or not.
taxes me? so you mean for example.. if i want to buy a spell slot.. i pay 2 points... but if i want to sell it, i only get 1 point back?..
Yes, exactly.
Well, it does let you convert your low level slots into higher level slots if you want to.
ah alright.. then iknow. but that means you can ♥♥♥♥ up youre entire caracter..
i mean lets say you got 20 points, and you cant gain more cause you are MAX LVL...
sell buy sell buy sell buy... and you end up with just a few points left cause you always lose 1.. and then you cant gain more cause you cant lvl up more.. thats stupid..
i guess i will use them for meta... and i will only get a slot when seriously needed.
what do you mean?.
