Is there a good class to learn the game with?
Of all the classes I guess I'm asking which is easiest to learn the basics with... Or a good website you can recommend? Thanks for your help!

Any class. You will get exposed to other classes through the companions. THe game also isn't that complicated (it's not press x to attack easy, but you certainly don't need to be a rocket scientist to figure it out). Read the tutorial pop-ups, mouseover tool tips, and ability descriptions. And when in doubt, google it. You'll be fine.

Any class.

I second this. Just dive in head first and swinging. Just gogogo, you got this.

What ever class you imagine in your head that you want to play, Don't make that character first you should make a toss away character to learn the ropes of the game like others here have pointed out, Once you've got a better understanding then go for that character in your head it makes playing them that much better when you got some game mechanics down.

I strenuously disagree with this. The first play-through is ALWAYS the best one. If you make a throwaway character, don't go far past the tutorial before you start over.

Wild-magic sorcerer would probably be considered one of the most difficult to learn, because random things can happen when you cast spells. And you might not understand why something has happened. So I would start with it. If you master that, you have mastered them all.

I guess to each their own playing one of the most difficult classes from the get go tends to drive people away from games I think but who knows with OP.

Start with Ranger, you get a little bit of most of what you can expect from the classes; like spell slots, weapon and armor proficiency & special dialogue leaning towards a good play-trough.

If you pick anything other than Ranger, I suggest you pick a dwarf or a Githyanki because of their racial weapon and armor proficiency, which will give you an overall good time mechanically

It's an RPG? Play a role you want to play.
You people are silly.

The best class to learn the game with is Fighter.
Its literally the most basic. It has no unique functions, no special rules, nothing complicated about it whatsoever. It can use all the weapons, all the armors, so you dont have to figure out what you can and cant do. It has high hp, high armor, reliable weapon damage without having to worry about spell slot management, and the only powers it has are "Heal yourself" and "Swing again."

There is no argument to be made here. Fighter is without a doubt the easiest class to learn DnD 5e with. If you already know you want to make a magic character, at level 3 you can take the subclass Eldritch Knight which allows your fighter to begin using magic. This will allow you to start off by learning all the rules of dnd 5e, and then, slowly transition into learning about spells, spell slots, and long rests.

Once you've learned the game as a Fighter (Or Eldritch Knight Fighter), then you will be ready to take on any class and learn their functions as they are all pretty unique in how they function, but learning the standard rules and the rules of spell slots will set you up to learn every other class, since every class uses spell slots or, has no magic to worry about.

I heard Fighter is newbie friendly when it comes to D&D.

since this is a digital game you can go for anything and press random buttons to see what they do :steammocking:

Well, I know enough players who basically do exactly that at the table...xD

Fighter is defs the most vanilla, noob friendly...but it's not as high a bar as people think to get into. Fighter is so low its the kind of thing you give a footy jock who just wants a game but has no geek in him, knows nothing about DnD. Nothin wrong with fighters, or course.

If you pick a wizard, for example, you are about to be in on a lot of classic DnD jokes about how you are a wet paper towel in the early levels, easily torn - but eventually you will be a powerhouse. Some classes feel weak at certain levels, so you think you are doing it wrong...

Again, it's best to play the role you yourself want to be in - every fantasy book you read or show you watch, who are the coolest characters? Play one of those - at some level, the PHB accounts for it. Even fighters go from two handed conans to moustaches and rapier duellists.

Frankly, Barbarian. It's easier to hit, you're hit for half during frenzy, OP as hell too so you'll not have a hard time even considering you don't know the encounters.

I love Fighters and I found them very easy to get and hardy enough to survive any mistakes you make as you learn the game.

I'm playing mage classes now and I'm finding the game a bit more unforgiving.
Champs are prolly the most "noob friendly", but BM's and ED's are prolly pretty close to a Ranger or Rogue in terms of complexity.

That said, I don't think any class is so daunting it couldn't be played by a beginner. Just take something that's appealing and go for it.
Most of the classes ease in as it starts at lvl 1 but if I had to go about suggesting easiest mechanics wise Rouge and fighter probably the most simplistic, don't have to worry about spell slots and such.

Fighter, Ranger, Rogue, or Paladin (the latter less so, because of the stringent requirements to trigger being an Oathbreaker).

Fighter is the most basic fighty boi, Ranger and Paladin allow you to dip your toes into casting (Paladin moreso, since they can change their spells each Long Rest), and Rogue gives a stealth and skillmonkey idea, with the option of casting dipping with Arcane Trickster.
