A lot of my fun was in killing those mofos.
Especially Gale for me. Astarion, yes I like killing almost as much.
Don't deprive me of my choices to kill them!
But that's under the assumption that you have a free hand doing it. A lot of game director don't have that luxury and have to deal with people meddling all the time.
Most crazy thing is when you lisen to a game director when they leave a studio after a few years and they open up and give up all the juicy stories that happened on passed projects meeting priceless.
Anyway, to get back on topic the astarion thing is more of a personal preference and what kind of vampires you like.
Nowadays we do infact get mostly Twilight rip-offs like the op called it. I woudn't mind Astarion at all if he was a normal rogue and not a vampire.
This is spot on! Works for lae'zel as well tried and tested mutiple times.:)
Ironically there IS the option to just "delete" him, just talk to the moster hunter near the Hag's lair .
Also, you can always, you know, NOT accept him into your party, or kill him when he tries to bite you, or tell him to leave the party in the same dialogue .
That said, he's probably the only trully evil origin character, we needed at least one. Even Lae'zel is being fooled by her Lich Queen and behaves like a children, blindly following suicidal orders .
He isn't great nor insufferable, and his backstory have potential, specially because we don't know (he doesn't remember) much of his life before becoming a vampire spawn. I have the feeling every Origin character will have several points where you can "convert" them, like Wyll deciding to torture or not the captive at the Goblin base .
Shame they removed some of the features like instanly dying if you cross running water but oh well i still wanna play as a vampire boy lol
Was this a thing? I don't remember this, I remember he losing health continuously in running water tough, usually when trying to reach the Owlbear cave.
That's a vampire spawn and vampire weakness. They are harmed by running water.
I know, but was he ever instakilled by water in BG3? I don't remember this being a mechanic.
Haha, if he was you could take him down with a single cast of Create Water. 💦🤣☠⚰
Not if it was coded to only work with RUNNING water, so it would just mean he cannot cross rivers/sea. Could be interesting, but also potentially infuriating.
All water is running, all things are always in molecular motion.
