Elf with beards?
I thought it was common knowledge that elves on DND couldn't have facial hair

Devs, why Ketheric Thorn has a beard if he's an elf?

Yes, but half-elves can have them.

BG3 doesn't allow you to give elves facial hair, at least it doesn't allow me to give them beards. Half-elves can, though.

yes, but ketheric thorn is full elf and he has a beard
Here's a funny thing:
In earlier editions it was specified that male elves have no facial hair. So the rules didn't explicetly forbid female elves with facial hair.
Sadly the 5e phb "corrected" that and ruined any female elves with facial hair fantasies.

Belt of dwarven kind to magically grow a beard?

"yes, but ketheric thorn is full elf and he has a beard"

How do you know that he's a full Elf?

I was thinking about that one to, but it specifies one must be able to grow a beard. And that's a whole other unresolved discussion in 5e in regards to elves...
It's simply unspecified...do elves just have inactive follicles that could be activated via magic or do they have no follicles at all?

Maybe his mom wasn't entirely honest with who the father is; perhaps she doesn't know herself

Maybe the devs thought not letting elfs have beards wasnt inclusive enough so they decided to handwave it away since they are the DMs of this tale and everything has to be represented, including elfs with beards.

If the movie can have the owlbear druid thing because they thought it was cool, then we the devs see an elf with a beard as cool.

PG response and reason.
Do elfs have pubic hair? 🤔

I doubt it.

Elves have neither facial nor body hair...which makes it just stranger that they have hair on their head to me...they should all be bald...:P
Hes a powerful necromancer and probably has something to do with Myrkul, special case me thinks.
