Digital Deluxe Edition

Hi! I was wondering if you can help me since I don't understand one matter. If I purchase this game through Steam here will I get the "Digital Deluxe" add-ons now, or after release? If I purchase it before August 31... If not can you tell me where the "Digital Deluxe" price is listed? I see only the Collector's edition but right now I am interested only in the digital in-game bonuses you can receive from the digital edition.

If you buy the game before release date you will get the Deluxe bonuses for free at release. If you wait after 31.08 you will have to pay for it most likely

If you have bought or you are planning to buy BG3 before the launch, your purchase is going to be upgraded to deluxe edition when it's out of Early Access. We don't deserve Swen.

It's actually kind of a ♥♥♥♥ move, imo. Larian spent the entirety of Early Access assuring people that they weren't trying to give people FOMO, that buying the game on Day 1, after the reviews came out, would be just as valid as buying the game in Early Access. You'd be getting the same game for the same price; the benefit of Early Access was to give feedback and enjoy an early demo, and nothing more.

The Deluxe Edition content is a pre-order bonus, plain and simple. It is unabashed FOMO-generation. Don't get me wrong, I think people that fall for pre-order bonuses are morons who need their credit cards taken away, and I love Larian's games, but this is an absolutely hypocritical move. It's not a reward for the fans; it's purposefully (mildly) insidious marketing, meant to make impressionable people jump the gun on their potential purchase.

Phew, I forgot how ridiculous some people on Steam forums can get. Instead of calling other people morons, you need to look at a mirror. No one is being forced to buy anything. Larian didn't have to upgrade preorders to digital deluxe edition - I was more than ready to pay for it myself because I know the game will be worth it and I already feel like I paid too little for their previous games. And i's not some despicable evil for a game developer to do things to entice people to get their game anyways.

Now if there was actual gameplay content gated off behind FOMO i'd agree. But there's not.

Meh, adding an upgrade kicker is a pretty mild (and much used) sales tactic across all retail products and its available up to release. Hell, I've pre-ordered a week early to preload before.
