Can i make a formation?

I made a squishy character and i'm always first in a room or what not so when a fight breaks out that is bad. But when i switch the fighter lady then if there is dialogue she does it. How can i keep my character the one who does checks but isn't charging through doors?

thanks-- yeah i remember the chains from Divinity so i guess i will deal with it.

I am fairly certain you can select any party member you wish and make them first into a room. I see no reason your squishy main should go first. It is a party after all and each toon has their own strengths. Goi g first into s room sounds like a job for La’zel or perhaps Shadowheart. Just click on who you want to face the danger of the unknown.

I'll keep trying when I put La'zel in front it keeps having her do the dialogue checks. But i'll figure out a plan

Pick a tankier character have them selected and move them to the front. Sometimes it's fun to let another character handle things, especially if you want to tap into the tadpole powers and let them use up their moments instead of you.

the Squishy may be the one with highest charisma, I want him going first and dealing with any interaction.
