Exporting a Character.
Have Larian said anything about you been able to export characters the way you could in BG 1&2 to pick in character creation?

They haven't. Export them to what? You're not going to be able to import from BG 2 if that's what you're asking.

IDK but a system like solasta has? i love that i can make many characters and save them for later so when i am ready to play with my friend i dont have to waste extra time making whole set ups, if thats what they mean then i think its not the worst idea. Or export a char already played so we can restart the game at lvl 1 without having to remember everything we did even. i dont hate the idea honestly.

No, But in BG 1&2 you could export you character then load that character up when starting a new game. that way you didn't have to re-role for stats if you got lucky, the exported character also kept all their gear and levels. I know it's not something Larian have done before. But it was a feature of the original games and I didn't know if there had been anything said about it?

I guess it could be possible, but I don't see it being very high on the priority list.

I can get behind saving a character for later. At the moment nothing has been said however. Far as I'm aware however, the characters are baked into the saves and the format doesn't really allow for that, so it's unlikely to be an option.

Not going to happen because there are still classes and races to be added.

Also this is early access and things can change so a built in character save function now could be broken with future changes.

This idea is nice and would be convenient but it won’t happen before full release.

I wasn't asking if it was coming soon, I know it wont make it in before full release just like we won't be getting origin characters. I haven't heard anything on this myself but was hoping it is something planned for with the full release of the game.

There is a way to do it.
I can argue about the fact that there is no abilities rolls so there is no need for you to save the character as you can recreate them whenever you want.

So here my way to save my character:
- Create a new game.
- Create your character.
- Wait the end of cinematic.
- When the character woke up at the first second you can control your character : Save
This new save can be named "my character" or whatever you want. And voilà! When you want to start a new game with this character load this save. Do not save on this save during your adventure.

Would be nice, since Larians char customisation is a bit basic probably not a huge priority, but it is one of those tiny features I always love in games.
