How is Minsc alive?
Maybe it's explained somewhere that I have yet to see, but I'll ask anyway.

I thought this game takes place at least 100 years or so after events of bg2, is that correct?

Is it explained how Minsc is still alive (and youthful) anywhere? Or is it simply a case of "people liked this character so lets put him in this game as well and sort out the details later"?

All right this not fan based. There is a good panoply of comics about it. It has been already explained 12135 times in other threads.
So none has never played it because the Minsc you've played is not the Minsc i've played and is not the canonical Minsc which appears in the comics and Descent into Avernus.
BG3 Minsc is the one from Descent into Avernus storyline and the Bhaalspawn that stopped the Bhaalspawn war (bg1&2) is a human fighter named Abdel Adrian which is the canonical BG1&2 main character.

Yeah calm your pickle - I know it's not fan-fiction. I said it reeks of bad fan-fiction (there may be a language barrier here, or you could just be an easily offended nerd - either way it's not my problem). I asked if anyone has played that module that the page linked above talks about, I'm sure someone here has and can offer an intelligent opinion/critique about it. I don't give 2 s###s about the "canonical" BG1/BG2 protagonist, that's got nothing to do with what I asked.

Half of DnD lore is poorly-written, but it's tough to gauge writing quality from a lore-dump on a wiki, right?

I'm sure the presence of any returning characters, Minsc included, will be explained in BG3 in a more satisfactory way.

You can only play the canonical Minsc in tabletop. If i remember well the name of the book is something like "heroes of Baldur's gate".
There is no game before BG3 which is exploiting the current canonical Minsc. So yes it has to do with what you asked, i'll answer again.

has anyone here played that?
No or maybe on tabletop, but aside this this is not possible to have played Minsc.

Is it any good?
Very subjective, i'd say they made a formidable job on the storyline of the character so far.

That page reeks of bad fan-fiction
It does not, this is a really really faithful description to what happened to Minsc during and after the Bhaalspawn war.

Around 130 years. BG2 plays around 1367DR, BG3 plays around 1495DR

It's explained in the lore, however the later always plays a role. However, given there's enough magic around and gods and resurrection magic that can even bring someone back without having a corpse at all. Having the feywilds where decades can pass by in the material plane while you only spent minutes in the feywilds etc....
In short there are countless ways to justify anyone popping up almost anywhere in time...

Don't go to a hag for a cure. Might end up smoking something and get stoned.

On a side note: One of your first possible companions in BG1 was a petrified drow cleric. I guess it's just a running gag at this point.

Don/t recall a drow being trapped in stone, recall a cleric into butts stuck in stone Branwen was good fun.

No, Viconia was never petrified.

Another cleric was but she wasn't a drow.

That usually does the opposite of petrification since you end up on the toilet a few hours later.
