Baldur's Gate 3
Dear Kevin Vanord - The Writer of Wyll.
1) Please give him a future sidekick,, like a "robin" or a "lefou"....even if its just temporary? Every hero should eventually have someone under their wing,, or at least a fanboy or girl that is around them for a while? It would be a nice reference, for those who love their hero tropes.

2) Wyll needs an "Arrow" moment with his 'felicity!' Where he's on the verge of giving up,, & is given the best damn pep talk ever in D&D history! Here's a perfect example on the video here,, which should also be part of Wyll's story in my opinion.

3) A hero like Wyll must have his "Yu Yu Hakusho" ending,, which I doubt you ever watched that anime? But basically it's the traditional hero finale, when he has to say goodbye to his loved ones & go off on an important hero mission.

It's similar to how the military portrays it,, because after they come back they're welcomed with hugs & kisses from the family. Again here's a perfect example on the video link here.

4) Wyll has to go to distance!! There should be a cutscene where he doesn't have any powers,, or the abilities his devil lady gave him? He's his original self,, who's facing an opponent that realistically he can't win,, but reaches victory in the cliché hero way.

If it can be similar to the movie "The Last Dragon," then it would be like a dream come true to me!! It's when Sho-nuff is trying to make Bruce Lee-Roy call him the master? Yet for Wyll's situation, it can be about a villain trying to make him submit & call him or her their master,, their ruler, or even their God?

Thankfully Wyll finds the glow (strength) to be his own man,, his own master, yeah you get the idea right? 😅 https://youtu.be/uMKp8OaA-l0

If someone more knowledgeable in D&D is reading this and knows about warlocks - what happens a warlock's patron is destroyed? Would they lose their powers?

Would be it similar to a cleric losing their god?

The way I've ran the situation when it came up was not a fiend warlock but a celestial... Was to run a scene of Guardians of the Galaxy when they run into Ego. The planet was Ego and powered Ego and after Egos death the Celestials planet still powered the warlock without Ego directing the magic..... an open well of pooled ambient magic. (Warlock would eventually become Ego :steamfacepalm:) This was my only experience and may not be indicative of typical results.

Agreed... I think the interesting thing about warlocks in D&D is the considerations around their abilities as mortals without the powers of their patrons - who they were before they made their pacts etc.

Thanks for your agreement.

To the extent he was a capable fighter before he got his warlock powers is unknown from my memory of playing, so others can correct me as needed.

I think he was more of a lover,, then a fighter.

And by that I mean he used to be able to sweep people off their feet,, & have things his way with some persuasion? Using his tongue as a weapon,, but with an actual blade he probably was small & weak like a dagger.

Unlike all the real fighters with long swords,, halberds,, & spears! So if he did have any success as a fighter / soldier,, then it had to do with his charisma & family connections.

Wyll without his powers is no longer the 'Blade of the Frontiers' or this hero figure he makes himself out to be. He's just some mortal...

If Wyll isn't the "Blade of Frontiers" without his devil lady,, then he don't deserve the hero title anyways.

Dependent on the level of his hubris, hopefully there'll be a way to influence him to embrace his warlock-ness within the the game, essentially binding him more closely to his fiend patron, who for all we know possesses his soul in exchange for him getting to be 'hero' etc, or we can persuade him to turn away from her but then renounce his ability (at least within his mind) to stand out / be remarkable. Something like Khelgar in NWN 2 where he can stay as a fighter or go monk might be an interesting mechanic.

^ Good feedback that I think Larian should seriously take into consideration.

In Wyll's case specifically, I think if his patron dies, he would argue that his bond is broken, and the contract is over. So I think he would be released from the contract, but I only say this because Wyll has expressed desire to be free of the contract and as he is a "Hero" I think the writers will take him down a redemption arc.

Nope,, it was told to me that Wyll's patron is part of a royal family of top-tier devils! She's pretty much a princess or something,, so if she dies then it wouldn't make sense that they ignored it.

My guess is they'll take control of his soul,, & punish him worse since they don't have a "loving" relationship like he does with her.

This might explain his desperate desire to save her,, it's more then just his freedom?! He knows that her demise will be his as well,, or being enslaved to an eviler master.

This is a great idea for Wyll,, where he can have a similar ending involving Avernus.

Dear Kevin,, it's me again except with more ideas in regards to Wyll's possible epilogue this time.

1.) There should be an ending scene where it reminds us of Kovu from the Lion King 2. 🦁😻 I don't know if you saw it,, but basically he gets "cancelled" & exiled for being the so-called villain.

There's lyrics that reminded me of Wyll,, where it said "Deception, disgrace,, evil as plain as the scar on his face." =(

2.) He should become a full-time fighting instructor that helps the next generation of heroes? Maybe he got to work for the flaming fist again,, & this time leaves a better first & last impression? I could imagine him having an ending similar to that Bruce Lee movie,, which you can see here. 👈

3) Last but not least,, he has to have a true hero's ending involving self-sacrifice & possibly passing the torch (aka) "blade?" I even wrote an example on how you can kinda do this,, which was a topic about killing all of the companions lol. https://steamcommunity.com/app/1086940/discussions/0/3766732914511937379/

You could write how he died in a blaze of glory,, where he didn't cower or make deals with a devil this time to survive! Regardless this has to be an option for his epilogue,, where he's even sent to the celestial plane depending on his actions in the game.

I thought of a genius idea Kevin..

How about you bring back the original voice actor for Wyll,, but he'll be a non-companion that's part of a DLC? It could be where "Tav" & our party can visit a broadway play, & he'll be acting as Wyll for the Baldurian audience.

While the real one is watching his performance, & saying how the actor is nothing like him whatsoever lol. Now If this sounds not interesting...then at least watch this video before deciding if it's something you can see for BG3.

^ Imagine both Wyll & Laezel as spectators, being portrayed by other people? (This maybe all happens after defeating the final villains, & there's a celebration with various events happening.)

Marvel did something similar in two of their own Thor movies, which you can also watch the scenes if you click here.

Oh and I know you probably don't comment on the steam forums ... but would you know why Wyll's original actor was let go?? Is it too much of a touchy subject, & if so then I guess that means my idea wouldn't happen,, even if you wanted it too.
