1st level Variant Human Fighter with dueling fighting style and the feat so you get 1d6+5/1d4+5 and still have AC18 from chainmail and shield.
Caveat:
“The full release of BG3 will include all of the classes and races, and most of the spells and skills contained in the D&D Player’s Handbook, as well as Act 2 & Act 3 of the story of Baldur’s Gate 3.”
Feats aren't mentioned there, so no guarantees on all the feats in the PHB. Would definitely expect more though.
We need to curb our natural excitement and expectations. It's a video game based on TT- not a TT replacement.
"Classes evolve as you level up and each class presents plenty of opportunities for customisation. Once you hit level 4 for instance, you’ll get to select from a wide range of feats. Feats represent talents or an area of expertise that give characters special capabilities. They embody training, experience, and abilities beyond what your base class provides"
I read that as so that Larian considers 5e feats as normal class progression (phb) stuff and they are in.
And loong time ago in AMA they said that not all (or any, can’t remember) might not make it to EA.
Word of mouth travels fast about the dearth of customization options, even relative to the 5e Player's Handbook, a book that was released almost a decade ago.
I don't care very much for body or combat mechanics though... I think that it has a very good complexity right now. Maybe some fan favorite stuff like sharpshooter etc.
In short, very. Subraces aren't particularly hard, but full races are a nightmare if you want them in properly and not pretending to be something else; being an Aasimar but all your dialogue is for a Tiefling.
theres already a working mod that adds many feats including some newer ones like fey touched, shadow touched ,etc.
