Half-Orcs and Dragonborn are the only PHB races left iirc.

The only non-PHB race in right now is Githyanki, so I'm not sure what else could be available for PC races.

I don't know why Tieflings are in the Player's Handbook and Aasimar aren't, but Aasimar are one of my favorite races in Pathfinder and in DnD v2, v3 & v3.5. Aasimar make great clerics and paladins.

Yeah know . . . i really should make a post explaining this to everyone. i have talked about it so much in other discussions . . .

OK, here it is . . .

Half-Orc, Dragonsborn, and Duergar are to be as of right now are playable on official release, no argument, no exceptions, it has been conformed, end of story.

as to other races, long story short:

as of right now a lot of other races, including all mentioned above and more are going to be in game. data files and voice work was found. however, this was a long time ago, data mine breach was closed and no info on them in awhile has been mined. however voice files still are in were all others apparently were removed to focus on finishing game.

bottom line: though not much info for awhile, seems that many of these races and more are coming, BUT not until long after release, once main game is properly finished.

You can find more info from the one data-miner you can trust, Chubblot, on his YouTube channel, older videos. he has not been wrong.

P.S. current condition of this info generally solid, but things could have changed so keep this in mind that while still the considered final answer, things my have changed.

Things are put in code to misdirect dataminers, studios know the practice of data-mining and have developed strategies. I think Dragonborn and Half-Orcs are still on the table, based on the past Players Handbook statements. There were Orc/Half-orcs in the advert that came out before the PfH at the game awards. Not worried about Halforcs and this is the Red Prince company so Dragonborn, I'm not worried either.

I'd like to see githzerai and Aasimir to balance the Tieflings and githyanki, but that's more my preference.
Duergar, I guess as well but aren't they monsters in the newest editions, shaky ground these three, and probably not being added at release, but I can be surprised.

I'm not sure how Githzerai would work, given how prevalent Githyanki are in the plot. Unique dialogue would need to be written for Githzerai protagonists when they interact with their cousins, and it would likely end in violence. Lae'Zel would be pretty unlikely to partner with a Githzerai PC for long.
