Oathbreaker Redemption
I hope Larian comes up with a better solution for redeaming Oathbreaker Paladin's other than simply paying 2k gold. That is so unsatisfying. I am ok with having a method for redeaming them, but just paying 2k; it really isn't that much of a sacrifice.

It really should involve some sort of side quest. Though I understand that might be to much additional work for a game like this (much easier for a DM at the table to come up with on the fly) but maybe having to sacrifice a level? Losing a level to gain redemption is significantly more impactful than just some coin; and really makes the player feel the cost of what they've done, what they have given up, and what they MUST give up if redemption is really what they want.

Apparently there's a Catholic working on the Paladin at Larian Studios. 😏😉

Indulgence indeed.

The ability to break your oath right now is far too easy and undeserving to have any sort of serious penalty. I would be more incline to have a steep penalty if it was clear and meaningful to break your oath.

So much for "oath".
I remember even in NWN with its "convoluted" (as 5e adepts would say) system that included alignment, losing your required quadrant of that alignment was no joke for a paladin. It was incredibly difficult to shift it back to where it should be, especially on Chaotic <-> Lawful scale (though becoming "good" again was also a big challenge).

2k gold is just a joke and shows how shallow the experience has become.

Honeatly, it is harder to break the Oath than it is to not break it. There definitely work for Larian to do on the system, but even as is, it's really not that hard to remain true to the Oath.

Besides, Oathbreakers are really powerful, so there isn't even a penalty for it. Play as an Oathbreaker if you don't want to be bound by reatrictions on your actions, OR pay a steep price to restore your Oath. And 2k just isn't steep. You will already have 2k by the time you have the 1st opportunity to break your Oath.

Is some people there really think that in 5e breaking oath is immediately resulted in gaining subclass oathbreaker and cool edgy powers? Or I misunderstood something.
Oathbreaker is a subclass for paladins that turn evil after breaking oath, for other paladins its just losing powers, and paladin can get redemption from cleric larian just simplified it

Good Wealth triumphs over evil
Very realistic I think.
Maybe even more realistic than the life itself :)
