Killing the Oathbreaker

So decided to try it out and you can actually fight and kill the oathbreaker that appears in your camp should a paladin character break their oath. The main problem I ran into was that Withers, the dog, Shadowheart, and even Volo all turned against me. Most of them can be dealt with... except Withers. 1hp, but immune to all damage—and he'll mock you about it the whole time, too!

The oathbreaker himself was tough, but easily doable without cheese at level 4, even when having to contend with all the others. Definitely able to dish out some terrifying damage though, haha. Party consisted of battlemaster dual-wielding Lae'zel, custom gith oathbreaker, abjurer gale, and thief astarian.

And no, I didn't see any sick loot.

Killing him is pointless theres nothing to be gained

I played around with this during early access. Unless it’s changed, if he initiates the combat, everyone in camp will rally to your side. If you attack unprovoked, they rally against you. I was goofing off and broke my oath a bunch of times so when I killed him, he had 10000 gold lol.

The way I got him to attack me was to fail at pickpocketing my money back from him.

I didn’t even notice the oathbreaker was in my camp when I started wailing on a hireling with the shattered flail to heal up and he just attacked me out of nowhere.

My 3 hirelings, and Karlach started fighting him, but when he died, Wyll, Astarion, and Scratch, along with Karlach, and all my hirelings attacked me. Withers remained neutral.

After I killed everyone and got out of combat, I was able to get Withers to resurrect everyone, and Scratch came back after the next rest, as I had just knocked him out.

The oathbreaker was with 640xp at least. No loot though.
