Books and Notes and Keys.
First off Books.
It would be nice if we knew if a book had some use or was just eye candy.
Every time I play I ended up grabbing every book and note I see and leaving it at the camp site inside the book shelf cause I dunno if it might be of use later...

Keys.
I always end up with a bag full of keys cause not all of them are obvious when they can be discarded. Be useful if the discriptions for keys changed once used.

I like these ideas. It would also be nice if some books were highly prized by particular merchants and you could get additional gold by selling to them.

Can farm the books for inspiration as a sage, but yes. Would also be nice to have read books marked. Or have all the keys on a viewable chain/usable from said bag.

do the books matter then?
We need a keyring and bookshelf that just automatically adds these items to instead of cluttering our inventory.

The ones that are required for quests have an orange outline in your inventory, but others may still provide inspiration, experience, spells, useful info etc.

Yeh i agree. Storing keys and books/Notes is time consuming and takes lots of inventory room. I just dump all books and notes to camp, but i wish there be better way. It be nice to know if you have read book before. Now i open all books and pick them up just in case. But i keep picking up same book multiple time.

so if i read them then i can leave them

i always read the book then i leave it unless it sounds important like letters

Just for quality of life:

If the group has already read a certain book or note, maybe we could get a prompt of some sort reminding us we have.

As an example, HARPER'S MAP(READ) or something along those lines. Just so we know we haven't missed anything important and we've at least opened it up once.

books could do so much. not used to full potential same as runes tablets and so on. As far as i know there are loads of copies of the same book as well. Not really sure why hopefully just place holders. I guess it would be fine if you had a copy later down the light. You can have tomes how to kill books.. Some of them could even give xp . More crafting recipes and the like hopfully we get lot of that in full release,

And it would be nices if we could find notes maps of for interesting places things of that nature. that could lead to quets new zone secret hiding places etc.

Ow and you don't always need pages off txt , pictures can go along way as well, or both as far as i know we have none in books or notes...

Well for keys you need a Keyrig.

They probably have a loot table with all the random books you could find. But as there aren't that many in there yet, you get loads of copies of the few that are in yet. That will probably fix itself, when the loot table gets populated by more random books in the release version.
This is obviously an educated guess, it could be something completly different, but this is what makes the most sense to me.

The only thing is needed IMO is a huge bag of holding for one quest-related items carrier :)
And the 'latest' sort option is implemented already, so you may sort those items in order they appeared in the bag (or inventory).

Would love an "already read" indicator for books, such as changing the color of the title to a more subdued gray or the (read) tag as was suggested earlier. Some keys can be used multiple times so it's not as clean a fix for them, in which case the "keyring" item from an earlier thread would be really nice.
