I’d rank them Sword of Justice > Everburning blade > Susser Greatsword.
But, each is useful for specific fights. Fights against a Wizard, susser is spectacular. For a barbarian or someone who has a lot of +attack, Everburn is better consistent damage.
1) Everburning blade----------------3-16, avg. 9.5
2) Sussur greatsword / SoJ ---------3-13, avg. 8 +1 attack
3) FaithBreaker----------------------2-11, avg. 6.5 +1 attack
But FB also has 'absolute power' once per rest for d10+1+STRx2+d6 (force)
4) Greataxe +1----------------------2-13, avg. 7.5 +1 attack
If you are able to dip your weapon into fire, obviosly EB would be the worst because dipping it in fire has no effect.
1) 9.5
2) 10.5 +1 attack
3) 9 +1 attack
4) 10 +1 attack
So, in normal conditions Everburning blade. But if you're planning ti dip into the fire for bonus damage, then enything else.
As for move set Faithbreaker is one of the greatest imo.
As for damage once per rest I like Greataxe for preparation.
Sussur/SoJ perks you know )
If you are half-orc you maybe like to prefer 1-12 weapons over 2d6 because you can add bonus 1-12 to your crits instead of 1-6.
Yep this is exactly where I was going. Sword of justice is 2d6+5 as well but has the potential to cast Tyrs as a bonus action which is +2 to AC. Not sure where that stacks it in the ranking but not sure I would put it above the Everburning Blade.
Dipped SoJ is better in terms of damage and has spell. One of the most precious.
There are also a lot of situational options like Exterminator axe and Vision of the absolute.
It's the greatest versus grimforge golem boss because of blunt vulnerability :)
Also IMO every 2h warrior must have in inventory at least 2: slashing/bludgeoning damage type weapons.
Also I've seen Maul+1 on BG3 wiki, but never seen it in game.
Agreed but I also don't find myself in a lot of situations where I'm dipping my weapon. In fact if I was having to dip it often I'd be questioning Larian again for their love of surface areas that don't make any sense.
Also annoying that one of the greatest weapons you'll find throughout all of Act 1 is at the very beginning.
1) Everburning blade / 2D6+1D4 / 3-16 / avg. 9.5 dmg / total 14,5
2) Greataxe+1 / 2D6+1 / 2-13 / avg. 7.5 dmg / total 12,5
Case 1: 100% hit GA / 95% EB (through Bless bonus most likely)
EB: 14,5 * 0,95 = 13,77
GA: 12,5 * 1 = 12,5
-> difference already only ~1.2
Case 2: 50% hit GA / 45% EB (harder enemies)
EB: 14,5 * 0,45 = 6.5
GA: 12,5 * 1 = 6.25
-> nearly identical diff 0.25
Just some thoughts. BG2 had way more OP weapons like 25 Str hammer with instant kills golems / trolls or a silver sword which had an instant death roll on hit (dual wielding both possible with 5 hits/round).
Well, I think it's more like a joke from developers.
I don't think a lot of people will try to kill cambion.
It's a close call. The Sword of Justice allow you to keep concentration on a really useful defensive spell all the time while Everburning blade has 1D4 more damage, but frankly now that we can reach lv 5 you don't really have to worry about this level of min/maxing.
I'm personally quite fond of the "very heavy Greataxe" you get from the goblins at the windmill. It does slighly less DPT just because preparation into gargantual cleave can be so much fun against, ironically, packs of goblins.
On a berserker maybe but even there the difference is so small. You just get Kaghas necklaces and you are good to go..
I like to use faithbreaker with a shield (so not as a 2hander). If you're gonna go blunt, Hamarhraft is probably the best choice like for killing the last boss , just gotta ALWAYS remember to control the character with it to avoid friendly fire with the jump AoE procs.
