The cleric can even wear Heavy Armor , and can also bring a shield to cast spells, which in itself defines the frontline attributes of this classes.You don't need spell enchantment(BUFF) to have high ac. plus you are good at healing.
Even the Trickery Domain of Shadow Hearts has a very practical "Invoke Duplicity".Invoke Duplicity provides the advantage of a long-lasting, consistent and efficient melee attack.
When I say that Shadowheart can handle the front line, I'm not talking about the fact that she can do the kind of damage that a regular fighter can. In a way, you could say she's a tank (but thanks to "Inflict wounds", it's easy to do considerable damage).
That is, I just think we should have a class pairing like “" Imoen? Neera? Nalia? Aerie? Korgan? Anomen Delryn? Keldorn Firecam? Sarevok Anchev?"”, but a new companion exclusive to the bg3 original.
I mean, I want the bg3 version of "Imoen, Neera, Nalia and Aerie OR Keldorn and Sarevok ".(A lady can also be an elegant spell caster, and a man can be a brave warrior.)
An example that i like to share on my own is that i find there is too few of cleric. I think that if there was another cleric in a more "conventional" domain it could be great. Male or female.
Nah, can't do. The sheer ambition of BG3 means they must have fewer characters.
There is a kind of a match-up, but I put that down to class-based game design than any singular effort:
Shadowheart -> gee, no stealth cleric springs to mind, apart from BG1's Tiax
Wyll -> Nothing close I can think of
Gale -> Edwin
Lae'zel -> Korgan
Astarion -> Yoshimo
Lae'zel -> Shar-Teel Dosan
Shadowheart -> Branwen or Viconia DeVir?
Aha, the missing feminine spellcaster archetype, and masculine warrior archetype. Their absence is conspicuous, isn't it?
Honestly, I think they've left that space solely for the MC, if you wish it.
Also, it has been well done over the years, so I imagine the creative sorts pushed in other directions. And once you get hooked on a character like Lae'zel, the writing process takes over and you follow.
I reckon they probably had something like 2 dozen characters drafted and whittled them done to the most engaging and compelling. Sadly, characters of those archetypes probably just got edged out.
Exactly !missing feminine spellcaster archetype, and masculine warrior archetype!
I envy the ability of native English speakers to express themselves.I wish I could have this level of English one day.
It is only discriminatory to have powerful male spellcasters but lack equally powerful and elegant female spellcasters.
Shadowheart is great for Pass Without Trace, Blessing of the Trickster and Create Water. If you want to deal damage with her, you're going to have to resort to Guiding Bolt and Inflict Wounds, but she does alright with a spear.
