Considering speak with animals is a thing in BG3, what voice do you guys think Boo will have? Part of me would find it hilarious if they gave Boo a very sophisticated and elegant sounding voice to contrast Minsc's craziness.

Maybe a deep voice, filled with resignation after seeing Minsc act like an idiot for so long, but loves him too much to leave him alone. Maybe a voice similar to Mr. Pokeylope from Psychonauts 1.

Minsc was one of the most popular companions in Baldur's Gate 1 and 2. A human ranger with a pet hamster. He had been hit on the head before meeting the player character and so isn't all right in the head.

He has a strong moral compass and thinks that his pet hamster, named Boo, is a miniature giant space hamster (which actually do exist in Wayfinder). His notable quotes are things like "Let us find evil and give its butt a good kicking!" "Go for the eyes, Boo, go for the eyes!"

According to lore, he was petrified after the events of Baldur's Gate 2 and had been a statue for around 100 years or so when a battle was taking place near him and some wild magic unpetrified him. One of the people fighting is a long-lived race and another potential companion in Baldur's Gate 1 and 2 who recognized Minsc the moment he comes to.

Basically itt has been comfirmed already that boo is miniature giant space hamster. So Minsc does not think it is, he knows it is.

WotC table top show games featuring boo shows it as intelligent and something else as regular hamster. MtG cards allow Boo to become Giant etc. Just to name few.

Edit: yikes for the video. I want!

♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ that looks hype af. People can say whatever they want about Larian but they can't deny that their art direction is insane
What I find a lot more interesting that there seems to be a big battle going on in, what we can only assume to be Baldurs Gate...curious what's happening there...:)

What makes you say that?

This game has official prequel comics: https://borg.com/2021/08/29/dungeons-dragons-mindbreaker-new-comic-series-serves-as-prequel-to-baldurs-gate-iii-video-game/

And Minsc is already wake in those. That video is some kind fo backstory video not actual in game event.

Minsc was turned to flesh long before the game iirc. It's not like it will happen in the game.

I like the idea of Boo either not speaking to us or not talking much - even if it's been confirmed that boo is actually a miniature giant space hamster, I prefer sticking with the BG 1/2 approach where it's unclear.

On the one hand, it sounds absurd and Minsc did have a head injury.

On the other hand, it's not like it's the goofiest thing in either game, so you could never quite rule it out.

Is a giant miniature space hamster actually a 'beast'? Because it may be a monstrosity and if it is then speak with animals/beasts wouldn't work.
