Funnily enough I think Rogue is the only one I probably think less of, and that's mostly because I'm not a stealth guy, so that doesn't interest me in a class.
Good AC (can wear med armor). Good HP (lots of temp HP that equal or even surpasses fighters/barbs). Greatsword proficiency. Did a run with just him and Lae'zel and was great. We killed or ignored the other companions as a true Gith would.
If only because it's helpful to always have Firebolt in the back pocket to explode things.
If Variant Human is ever added (or when the game launches and a mod for it comes out) I'll probably shift over to Paladin with a Magic Initiate: Sorcerer feat to get the similar utility.
There is something very nice, however, about playing a martial class. No need to worry about spell descriptions. Not becoming useless the moment spell slots runs out in deep dungeon runs.
A druid player will ultimately have a binder full of pages of things they can do, either in spells or the statblocks of wildshaping into beasts, whereas a fighter will have a single page even at level 20.
this time looking at Bard but its a bit dull in the way its working.
look forward to Monk
