like you threw them in lava/shoved and they died in the larva
or they died and then their body fell in the larva
if its the latter the body still counts as being where they died so press alt and their name should show up which you can click to loot.
He already specified that when he said:
So he's specifically wondering if there's a way to retrieve loot when you cannot access the body normally (by walking over to it and looting it), and the answer is no, there is not.
In Pathfinder, you get the opportunity to 'loot all' for every body (and chest, etc.) on an entire level whenever you exit the level.
BG3 does not have anything like that, and likely won't, either. It's a more organic system, where a character must be physically capable of reaching the container or body, and then must actually walk over to it to loot it.
I prefer BG3's system because it's more realistic and immersive.
imo that means the same as what i already said, he might think its inaccessible which is technically true, but if its the latter you don't need to access the body, you just click on the name
and the reason i asked is because i have seen someone mention them knocking a body off into an inaccessible place and i asked them to press alt and what do you know it worked, the name was there and they got that sweet loot
What led to the question was the first couple of videos on the store page. They show people being knocked into lava and off into a deep chasm. It's a super effective way to bat above your weight and kick the ♥♥♥♥ out of enemies that outclass you, but if you're losing all the loot I would be loathe to do it. I was hoping it would just dump all the loot at the edge of whatever they fell off of, but it doesn't sound like that's the case. Oh well.
Not controversial, we were having a very civil discussion, if you wanna see controversial look at every other thread on the front page atm KEK
